Honoring veterans on November 11
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, an armistice (temporary suspension of hostilities) was declared between the Allied nations and Germany in the World War I. November 11th was commemorated as Armistice Day beginning in 1919 and became a legal federal holiday in the United States in 1938. In the aftermath of World War II and the Korean War, Armistice Day became Veterans Day, a holiday dedicated to American veterans of all wars.

The Veterans Day National Ceremony is held each year on November 11th at Arlington National Cemetery. For more information on Veterans Day and for regional observances, please visit www.va.gov/opa/vetsday/.
A big thank you to all veterans of who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
