Short life for a MLB baseball
Major League Baseball claims that 60-70 baseballs are used in a typical game. MLB also claims that 250-300 pitches are thrown during a typical game. If we use the middle number of these estimates (65 and 275), the estimated life of a baseball is between 4-5 pitches.
Additionally, if a team plays 81 home games in a regular season, the team would use appromately 5,265 baseballs. With 30 teams in the league, MLB uses an estimated 157,950 baseballs in a regular season. This doesn't even take into account spring season, the All-Star game, and the post-season.
Might be time to buy stock in Rawlings.
